One of the questions I am often asked as CEO and Marketing Director of , www.launch-my-site.com is what does it cost to launch a new web site? And my answer is always the same. As much or as little as you like. There is really no set cost's until you make one.

There are the fixed costs such as designing the site if you can't do it yourself, getting a web address, ie domain name, hosting  and perhaps paying for someone to design your graphics if your designing the site yourself and can't do the graphics, but those cost's are minimal. If you design the site yourself, and your only paying for graphics's then the costs of getting  your site online can be less than $75.00. The real expenses start after your site is online.

In our eBook entitled "How To Successfully Launch A New Web Site Or Revitalize An Old One"  we show many methods of  advertising, promoting and marketing your site that can cost zero dollars to mega dollars.

The reason the price can be so varied is because the Internet is so vast now and the choices for webmasters so varied, that you can pick and choose what activities you want to do to best suit your budget.

For example, you can choose two methods of advertising that cost zero dollars such as writing articles and submitting these to article directories, or you can choose to do the "free classifieds" options that will still get your site noticed but is totally free to yourself.

You should however know that the free options are more time consuming, ie you have to write the articles, submit them to article directories and hope these will bring you customers at some point down the road. 

If you choose the free classifieds option, these are also time consuming not to mention so boring that you will soon want to quit and start the really good stuff, which is spending some of your money to advertise, promote and market your site the way you should be doing it by investing at least some of your money into those very worthwhile and paid efforts.

So to get back to the question "what does it costs to launch a new web site?", the answer is another question. What will be my return on investment? If you have some idea that this will be at least $25,000 to $1,000,000 or more then (and you should be expecting that or else get another line of work!..then you won't have any trouble finding a budget of $200 to $1000 a month or more to spend on getting you those marvelous Internet Funds!

So here's a strategy to think about:

1. No budget, so do free marketing as above and what ever else you can think of.

2. Middle income budget: National and International press releases. The really BIG and worthwhile directory inclusions and maybe some PPC's marketing or other good mega traffic generating ideas. 

3. Upper level budget: Same as two but include hiring some PR firm to get your message out to the people who will be most interested making sure to include online journalists in your field. Add at least 10 other super marketing ideas (as many as you can think of really why stop at ten, leaving no other good advertising or promoting  ideas on the table.

You should also know that for launching a new web site, there is a beginning, a middle phase and an end. The trick is to get the momentum going and then putting  all your efforts into those ideas that are working out the best for you and making you the most money. So don't forget to track.
